The Trio encompasses a grouping of 3 buildings: The Stone Cottage, The Trapper’s Cabin, and The Stables.
The Stone Cottage is approximately 4,000 SF expansive lawn, all enclosed behind a 10-foot-high stone wall for privacy.
We recommend the ceremony be hosted at the Stone Cottage with cocktail hour at The Stables following the reception at the Stone Cottage.

IN THE GARDEN

Description:
The garden was constructed in 1858 at the same time the manor was built. It was designed with intention: two 10’ stone walls, stretching 180’ in two directions, situated along the north and west sides to block wind and to cradle the sun.
Within the walls the garden is laid out in a traditional checkerboard pattern, creating 4 dominate squares filled with concentrations of herbs and flowers, edged by cedar hedge, stone greenhouse, and root cellar. Beyond the structure is a rural setting of rolling pasture that is timeless.
This is a dreamy space that celebrates the perfection of nature among antiquities.

Description:
The Eliza blends the splendour of the walled garden with the infrastructure available to the Trio, consisting of the Stone Cottage, the Trapper’s Cabin, and The Stables. It is intended to denote the event physically by function. The walk to and from the location invites pause and separation of activity.
The name ‘Eliza’ commemorates the manor’s mistress, Eliza Langdon Wilks, and imagines her to have been instrumental in the garden’s design. The short walk to the Stone Cottage would have been reminiscent of her routine when she had lived there during the manor’s extensive renovations.

Description:
This package was designed with ‘small’ in mind. It’s intended for the occasion focused on privacy and intimacy inherent in smaller groups. It highlights the beauty of our largest and most esteemed guest house, the Stone Cottage. It is situated in the centre of the estate, overlooking rolling pastures, and surrounded by a stone privacy wall and dense forest.
It once housed the Wilks’ extended family, replete with butlers pantry, maids quarters, formal dining room, library, powder room and covered porch. This house is decorated with period antiques and artwork.

Many clients choose to work with our preferred partners who are experienced with the venue and make the planning process simple. Some services, including tents or specialized installations, require approved vendors to guarantee safety and quality. However, we are happy to discuss and accommodate other vendors whenever possible.
Our wedding packages are primarily designed for outdoor celebrations or under a tent. Guests are also welcome to use the interiors of the houses for certain elements of the wedding, such as welcome drinks, rehearsal dinners, or cocktail hour. We recommend discussing seasonal considerations when planning your event.
Absolutely! We encourage in-person tours so you can experience the property and visualize your celebration in advance. Tours are by appointment.
